Tonti Wheel Offset

The stock offset used by Guzzi on Tonti framed bikes from the "T" series was 40 mm. That measurement is from the flange on the drive side of the hub to the center of the rim. This wheel is built with 38.5 mm of offset. I eventually settled on 36 mm of offset for my race bike, putting the rear wheel 4 mm to the right of the centerline of the bike. Because my race bike ran at 7-10k RPM in turns, the crankshaft effect you feel when blipping your throttle at a standstill, would cause my race bike to require too much steering input on left hand turns. Running my rear wheel offline by 4 mm to the right neutralized my steering.
